Naz India has been implementing Goal since the last 6 years using sport and life skills as 2 strategies and building the confidence in young girls. However, through the CAC training we realize the powerful value of integrating sport and the social messages. The Naz coaches benefited immensely from the CAC training; they learned simple and fun ways to deliver critical messages to young people!

Coaches Across Continents Impact Numbers
|In Community Hours||224|
Our last program of 2012 was one of the most unique for Coaches Across Continents. We worked with Naz Goal India, which uses netball to teach the GOAL lessons and create female empowerment and gender equity, two very important topics which has made news recently in India. Working in three communities (Chennai, New Delhi, and Mumbai) CAC and Naz Goal met in downtown Mumbai to work with their senior staff as well as their GOAL coaches. Their coaches are extremely important, as they are girls who have completed the 10-month GOAL program recently, so not only are they coaches but they are also peer-leaders to the young teenage girls who are coming up through the program.
The difference between a girl who has completed the program and become a coach compared to those we saw around the community was evident. The Naz GOAL coaches are young, strong, fearless leaders who are using their voice to speak their mind and alter perceptions within the community. The lessons that they are learning through netball (and now soccer) are on display and show a progressiveness within the environment.
