Vijana Amani Pamoja meaning “Peace Together Youth” is a community-based-organisation, located in the heart of the Eastlands area of Nairobi, Kenya, where it is home to numerous slums and high poverty area. Founded in 2000 VAP was established to help the children of the Eastlands area by applying the most popular sport, football and using that as a tool for social impact. SEP uses football to empower and educate young people from the citys slums to help them make positive and healthy decisions.

Using sport for social impact VAP focuses mainly on programs addressing HIV/AIDS, female empowerment and corruption. They practice a three to six month program that takes a two-pronged approach. First educating and informing on relevant health and social issues, then using programs to help with self-esteem and confidence to help enable the children to put their knowledge into action and make positive choices. All of the programs are delivered by peer educators, many local soccer stars.
